L. C. Parish, Jr. As a teacher, I participated in many workshops and training sessions that Jon directed. He was always very personable, courteous, and very knowledgeable of the subject matter. He will be greatly missed for his kindness as well as his expertise.

Charlotte Anderson Jon was so helpful when I first started at PAEC. He was never too busy to answer any technology questions - and I asked quite a few. Shirley Eikeland As everyone can attest, Jon was a role model, mentor, friend and professional. His quiet, caring manner was a great match to solve so many technical issues. Although he loved technical things, he always kept the priority on people and service. What an honor and joy to work with him. Charlie While I only worked with him for a short time, I feel fortunate that I had the opportunity to meet and work with Jon. There isn't a place in this building that he didn't have something to do with putting together. I believe that work he did, helping put up the infrastructure at PAEC, will be part of the lasting legacy he leaves behind. Through his work he helped provide the means to educate thousands of people throughout the world, and in a way he continues to do that. My prayers are with his family during this time. Tony Anderson I did not get to work with Jon very long when I started working at PAEC because he retired. But, I worked him him when I was in the district and he was always so knowledgeable and helpful. You could always count on Jon. I will remember his quiet way of getting things done and being "steady in the saddle" in his demeaner. Every time I met him he was friendly, had a smile on his face and shared a kind word. I pray for your family that God will help you cope with your loss and get through the grief process as much as humanly possible. God bless you.
Judy Hall Jon was one of the most inspirational persons I knew. His smile and stories will never be forgotten. I had the pleasure of be a part of surprising him with a special tribute to his retirement. I always think of Jon every time I hear “The Midnight Train to Georgia”. Lisa Schofield Jon was an inspiration to me for many reasons. He was a teacher at heart and everyone who met Jon, learned something from him. He was a problem solver and seemed to have unlimited patience. He had a great sense of humor and could make me laugh without even trying. Jon had a warm smile that you could tell came from his heart and he was a fighter, who NEVER gave up. He loved and lived every minute of his life. Paula Lovett Waller My heart was saddened to learn of the loss of Jon this week. Please know what a special person, a PAEC family member, he was to me. I loved hearing the interesting train stories Neal and Jon shared, the quick laughter and twist of his head when he found something funny happening around us and knowing that whatever needed to be done could be trusted with Jon. Rick Everitt No one has or will ever take the place of Jon Haines. He was the perfect model of why PAEC has been successful for over 47 years. He came with the limited skills and knowledge necessary to operate a national television station and internet delivery network, but his want to and willingness to learn, and take a few resources then turned them into a successful operation is evident each morning when we get to work and his installs and connections are still working without failure for over 10 years now. We here, at the Florida Education Channel will never forget Jon and will be forever inspired by his spirit and character. Thank you Jon Haines.
Sandy MacDonald I was so sorry to hear about Jon. I had not seen him for several years and had no idea that he was ill. I met Jon when he worked with Jefferson County Elementary School in setting up the "Good Morning" show. I always enjoyed talking with him. Just know that he had a special place in many hearts.
Donna A Pate I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Jon was a wonderful person, always full of laughter. We worked on E-Rate together and he could even cause me to laugh in the midst of working on something I really didn't (and still don't) like to do. My prayers will continue to be with you.
