Frequently Asked Troubleshooting Questions:
Q: I am not receiving any channels on our DISH Network receiver.
A: With the remote control choose "Menu", #6 System Setup, #1 Installation, #1 Point Dish/Signal. If the signal strength is red and does not turn to green, the outside antenna has been damaged or needs to be realigned. Call a local DISH Network retailer for a service call. The school/site will be responsible for any charges.
Q: When school let out for the summer our DISH Network receiver worked. Now that we have returned, we can't get the Florida Education Channel?
A: In some circumstances, when the receiver has not been used in a while, the receiver loses the signal that DISH Network sends out. Power the receiver off with the remote control for 20 minutes. This gives the receiver time to receive a signal from DISH Network and update current software if needed.
Q: I turned the DISH Network receiver off for 20 minutes and I still do not get the Florida Education Channel.
A: With the remote control choose "Menu", #6 System Setup, #1 Installation, and then #1 Point/Dish Signal.
At the Point/Dish Signal screen, choose "Peak Angles". The satellite needs to be 61.5 and the zip code needs to match your current location. Make sure Dish 300 is chose as the type of system. Cancel out of the screen.
Run "Check Switch". This will take a few minutes. When you cancel out of the "Check Switch" screen, the signal strength should be green and be between 95 and 100. Cancel out until you are back to the main screen. The screen will show "acquiring signal" for a few minutes.
Q. The Dish Network receiver and VCR are powered on and all I get is a black screen.
A. Make sure both your TV and Dish Network receiver are powered on, that the TV is on channel 3 or 4 and that the VCR is on the correct channel, and that all cables are connected correctly. If you still do not have a picture, try resetting the receiver by unplugging it for 20 seconds. If you still have black or fuzzy screen, you need to contact Dish Network commercial accounts for assistance, 1-800-454-0843 or contact Denise Brock with the Florida Education Channel, 1-877-873-7232, ext. 2223.
Q. My receiver has the message "acquiring signal" and will not go to any programming.
A. This message can be caused by extremely severe weather, obstructions (such as tree limbs), loose cable, or misaligned dish antenna. If you are not having a problem with any of the above, please contact Dish Network for assistance, 1-800-454-0843 or contact Denise Brock with the Florida Education Channel, 1-877-873-7232, ext. 2223
