Jumpstart's Read for the Record

Help a child read. Help a child dream. October 8, 2009.

Can you imagine your childhood without your favorite stories? Neither can we. But the fact is that most children in low income communities have few, if any, age appropriate books in their homes. The number of books in a home is the single strongest indicator of a child's future reading ability – setting him or her on a track for success in school and in life.

Help us bring national attention to the importance of early childhood education by making Jumpstart’s Read for the Record the largest shared reading experience ever. You can make a difference just by reading with one child in your life. Even better, help put a copy of The Very Hungry Caterpillar into the hands of a child by donating a book at www.readfortherecord.org.

Get involved at www.readfortherecord.org:

•Be counted. Register to read today. Find everything you need to have your participation counted on October 8th.

•Donate. Help others read with us by donating a Limited Edition Campaign book to a child in need.

•Get others involved. Spread the word about the Campaign to your friends and family.

Read with us on 10.08.09 and help us make early education a national priority!
